Depot
for Overnight Delivery Service
Atlanta,
Georgia

This 250,000-sq. ft. building had 26 unit heaters to
be installed in the 40-foot high ceiling for a total
load of 1,600,000 BTU. The Mechanical Contractor requested
high-pressure 5- PSI from the Atlanta gas utility. The
job was originally estimated at two weeks with three
men. Three inch black iron was to be used requiring
welded joints. The job was redesigned using one-inch
TracPipe and a line regulator at each unit heater.
Seeing
how easily the TracPipe could be installed, with a minimum
of fittings and no welding, it was started with two
men freeing the other for assignment to additional work.
After only two days, the two workers completed pulling
the TracPipe tubing and attaching the required fittings.
The scissors lift had been rented for the entire two
weeks. This contractor now wishes he could rent his
equipment by the hour. The time and money he saved caused
this contractor to review his upcoming work.
Success in this job was followed by four more TracPipe
jobs immediately following the express delivery service
installation. The largest job involved 34 HVAC rooftop
units with a total load of 5,620,000 BTU. In addition,
he quickly completed piping a new Post Office in Swannee,
GA, an office complex with 21 suites and a second rooftop
job.
